They can sometimes work in small scale or in highly controlled laboratory or structured settings, but they fail to generalize or maintain performance when deployed in the large-scale, complex, and constantly changing reality of a refinery, a construction site, or an airport. They approach hard limits imposed by the fundamental physics of sensing and the inherent limitations of passive data collection (the Resolution-Context trade-off). Instead of iterating on flawed digital and passive data, we have taken a completely new approach.
